Brian McDermott’s Reading will visit the County Ground for Swindon’s final pre-season ahead of the upcoming football season.

While Swindon have fallen on hard times one of our old foes have become one of the strongest outfits within the Football League and also had a couple of seasons in the Premier League.

Reading only just missed out on a return to the top flight after losing 4-2 to Swansea City in the Play-Off final last month.

The friendly could see the return of former Town centre-back Sean Morrison to SN1 while Hal Robson-Kanu is another Reading/Swindon link.

Paolo Di Canio will also take his new look side to Italy between July 4-14 and the club hope to arrange some friendlies with Serie B sides.

Reading, Bristol City, Oxford United and Bristol Rovers all in one season… Shame it’s not all within the same division.
