Swindon Town cause a League Cup shock by beating SkyBet Championship side QPR at Loftus Road this evening.

Nile Ranger opened his Swindon Town goal scoring account on 38 minutes after Town enjoyed a good chunk of possession.

Shortly after the goal Alex Smith was substituted by Ryan Mason after suffering an injury that forced the former Fulham man off.

Town carried on playing well and absorbing pressure until former Town striker Charlie Austin scored although he refused to celebrate the goal. The excitement from the QPR fans was short lived after the goal was ruled offside.

Town would absorb more pressure from the former Premier League side but the nerves soon disappeared after Alex Pritchard scored in extra time to give Town a famous win away from home.
