Swindon Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected following the clash with Mansfield Town.

The performance by Matt Preston in the one nil victory over Mansfield Town at the weekend at the County Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Preston was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Preston starred at the heart of the defence in the absence of captain Olly Lancashire, helping to keep the Stags at bay as they suffered a first League Two defeat since 9th December.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Preston for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Luke McGee (Portsmouth), Charlie Clough (Barnet), Michael Hector (Hull City), Matt Preston (Swindon Town), Adama Traore (Middlesbrough), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), John-Hoe O’Toole (Northampton Town), Jordan Clark (Accrington Stanley), Mohamed Eisa (Cheltenham Town), Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), Simon Cox (Southend United).
