So, On the day that Swindon Town secure their future with new owners, they are told NO you cannot sign any new players after agreeing terms with Bradley Wright-Phillips, Danny Green and Marlon Pack, however Portsmouth who yesterday were told, ‘sort yourselves out, get out of administration or you will be kicked out of the football league’ were able to sign players no problem.
Once again its another clear example of the clowns who run the Football League having it in for Swindon Town. Remember 1990? And now this.
How can a club who is skint, and be £60M in debt be allowed to sign players, yet a club who has £13M in debt to it`s shareholders (who have written this off we may add), be told to do one, your not allowed to sign anyone.
Surely the club with new owners and money men are more solvent and less of a risk than a club who spent stupidly “chasing the dream”, and no longer have money let alone two pennies to rub together and have to sign players month to month.
This season at Pompey has been a mockery since day one this season and it`s not the Pompey fans fault. At best Pompey are looking at League Two football next season but despite being threatened with expulsion from the league are free to sign players. Their fans have been a credit, the revolving door of players going in and out of the club is incredible and Pompey pretty much take rejects from other clubs and a handful of loan players and hope they can gel for a couple months to get some results then start again. Town beat Pompey and to their fans credit they just chant “we lose every week, your nothing special, we lose every week”.
Some may argue “but Pompey can`t field a team”, well Tough really, if you can`t, you can`t, You have no body to blame but yourself”. Remember Weymouth in the Blue Square Premier a few seasons ago, had to field a team of youth players and trialists as they were skint? So should Portsmouth. That`s not a dig once again at their supporters it`s the stupid previous owners who clearly didn`t have a clue or care about anything other than making a quick buck. It`s incredibly unfair that a team like Swindon Town that did everything to ensure they “didn`t get into the same position as Pompey” can be told they aren`t allowed to sign players.
Because of this shambles, Town were forced to sell Matt Ritchie to a promotion rival for pittance whilst the League decides whether or not to approve Swindon Town`s takeover.
Despite this severe lack of justice or foresight by the Football League, Town are currently 2 points off the top of League One which must have the busy bodies at the Football League Seething.
They will be even more upset if poor little Swindon Town are top of League One tomorrow.
Hopefully the takeover will be approved today and we can move on but a big two middle fingers up to “our friends” at the Football League.

Don’t give us your grief, you don’t know half the truth behind the evil theives that were allowed by many within the hallowed football corridors of powers that were allowed to rape Pompey finanically. Good luck with your own problems but don’t beat us up over it.
Not beating up PFC over this, just stating a fact, your skint with no money and could be expelled,we make sure we don’t go down that path yet we cant sign anyone how does that work?
Different rules for diferent situations. Most of the time they don’t make sense & the ones who suffer are the real fans. Good luck to you.
