An impressive 82% of Vital Swindon Town voters believe that Swindon Town manager will bring in ‘quality’ signings this summer.

Town fans have thus far been happy after the arrivals of Gordon Greer, David Lucas, Alan O’Brien and Jonathan Douglas and are now eagerly awaited who Wilson will bring in to replace Simon Cox along with Barry Corr, Blair Sturrock and Ben Joyce up front.

It’s believed that Wilson is after two forwards with only Cherno Samba coming in as a trial since Cox’s departure. Theo Robinson had agreed terms but joined Huddersfield Town instead.

I Don’t think you will be behind him next summer! – just wait till your centre-mid is at right back, and striker at left back, and centre-back in midfield. Trust me goog manager but very weird tactics and players start to get stale under him, sounds weird but its the truth

….if they still win games I’ll go along with it. You’ve struggled since he left.

The difference between us and Hartlepool is that here DW actually has money to spend and now our squad has some very good strength in depth, especially in defence. At Hartlepool he had no money to spend, thus couldn’t ever make the kind of signings that he’s making here.

The problem with modern football is fans seem far more suspicious/pessimistic. I think it’s refreshing that so many are at least content with Danny Wilson at this point. It’s fair to say that a long, long time before it was even clear that he’d ultimately failed fans were not behind Maurice Malpas. We’ve got a seasoned pro who probably doesn’t have the same restrictions as he did at Hartlepool so it might not end up the same way. I’m happy with that.

Wilson had plenty of money to spend while he was here. He just didn’t spend it wisely.

Monkhouse hmmm – don’t seem to bad to me. I think reading between the lines and possibly putting my size ten in it, deep down he was doing a decent job, yes I’ve heard this business about strange tactics sometimes but hey… if it wins games live with it. You seem to be convincing yourselves more than us he was useless. Save your breath – we will see what happens.

It’s just as ridiculous to write off Danny Wilson at Swindon as it is to say that he’ll be a success because we don’t know. Obviously, Hartlepool fans will criticise and Swindon fans will argue in his favour.

Based on what I’ve seen so far he’s been shrewd in the transfer market and saved us from plunging into League Two.
