Vital Swindon Town visitors have voted goalkeeper Phil Smith as Player Of The Season.

Phil joined Town from Conference Side Crawley Town in the summer as a back up to Peter Brezovan.

Brezovan broke his arm against Grimbsy early in the season and Smith stepped up to the plate and performed magnificently including saving a penalty New Years Day against Milton Keynes Dons which gave Town 3 crucial points.

Smith has given 110% this season and has become an instant fan favourite at the County Ground and seems to be enjoying every minute of it. Smith always thanks the fans and tells the media how much it means to be backed by them.

Smith was the first player to impress manager Paul Sturrock and his fantastic displays lead to a 2 year contract extension.

We congratulate Phil Smith on a fantastic season and wish him all the best as he looks for a home in the Swindon area.
