Lee Peacock has told his Swindon Town team mates not to take the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy too lightly. A trip to the final can bring some much needed financial help to the club.

Speaking to the press after training yesterday Peacock said, ‘The competition has great memories for me. Winning it twice was fantastic and even losing the first time was a fantastic occasion.

‘People do laugh about the competition but it is a great day out if you get to the final.

‘It also brings a lot of money into the club, which could come in handy here.’

‘Scoring in front of thousands of fans in the final for City was one of the best moments of my career and that shows what you can get out of taking the competition seriously.

‘If we did get to the final I am sure we would take a massive following because we are so close to Wales.

‘It would definitely be another memorable day.’ Peacock finished.

The final will be held at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Sunday 1st April 2007.

Bit of a damp squib I find this – hardly inspires me – the risk of further injuries to an already depleted squad is not worth it, for a paint pot trophy.
