BBC Radio Wiltshire are reporting that Town forward Lee Peacock is set to leave the club.

With constant injuries the former Bristol City forward is now deemed to be surplus to requirements by Town boss Danny Wilson.

The Scotsman was signed by Iffy Onuora in January 2006 on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday.

He made his debut in the 4-2 win over AFC Bournemouth – he also scored the fourth in injury time.

His second season was his best in a Town shirt as he scored ten league goals and won the PFA League Two Fans’ Player of the Year.

Lee Peacock grabbed a brace in the 2-0 win at Chester City in September 2006 while also scored the all important goal in the crucial 1-0 win at Milton Keynes Dons and the third in the tense 3-2 win at Lincoln City.

During his third season, Peacock declared himself a central midfielder as Billy Paynter and Simon Cox secured first choice spots in the line-up.

Since the , Peacock returned to his familiar forward role but injuries have dogged the former Scotlad under-21 cap.

His last goal to date occurred last February in the 4-2 win over Scunthorpe United at the County Ground.

Peacock is believed to be one of the clubs highest earners.

In some respects I’m surprised because he’s featured this season. However, he’s 33 unfit and never going to score many goals. I wish him all the very best if he goes though.

Advertiser now have quotes denying an exit. Interesting.

One of the most loyal and inspiring players we have had for a few years. Good luck Peacs whether you stay or go. perhaps a coaching job would be a good move.

He’s put the effort in that’s for sure.
