Swindon Town are set to sign Welsh International defender Dave Partridge from local rivals Bristol City on a months loan.

Partridge 28, will replace captain Ady Williams who is out for the season with a knee injury should the deal be tied up by the 5pm deadline this evening.

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has confirmed Towns interest. ‘We are ready to let Dave join Swindon for a month rather than until thje end of the campaign just in case we need him for our final few games.

Johnson himself says that the deal is pretty much complete, ‘He (Partidge) will have talks with Swindon in the morning and we don`t anticipate any problems.’

Partridge joined City from Scottish Premier League side Motherwell for £150,000 prior to the 2005/06 season.

Partridge has also had loan spells at MK Dons, Leyton Orient and Brentford.

Town manager Paul Sturrock will also be looking to bring in another striker prior to the deadline this evening.
