Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio refutes claims and assumptions that he was set to quit Swindon Town after Matt Ritchie was sold to promotion rivals AFC Bournemouth.
Speaking to the media this afternoon he said, ‘There wasn’t even an instant when I thought (of quitting) and I thought straightaway of my squad. I thought also how to tell me players we lost one of the best players.’
Only 2 weeks ago, Di Canio had said Ritchie wasn’t for sale unless someone paid the club £15M. Suffice to say we got a lot less than that although it has since come to light we do have a 30% sell on fee.
