Gary Megson has been sacked by Sheffield Wednesday, right away Paolo Di Canio is the favourite to succeed Megson.

It is expected that any such approach from Wednesday would be rejected right out of hand.

Paolo Di Canio has stated a number of times he wants to stay at Swindon Town for many years and the club are set to meet with his representatives to iron out a new extended contract.

It is thought Di Canio himself would reject any approach as he has a plan in place and wants to see it through at Swindon Town.

Paolo’s team are currently top of League Two by 4 points and are in the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Dave Jones and Lee Clark are two managers already linked to the vacancy.
