Oxford United have given Swindon Town a paltry 1,252 tickets for our away fixture at the Kassam Stadium on the 3rd of March.

Our ‘friends’ down the A420 were looking at getting a temporary stand for this match but due to the costs and the fact this is a high profile match, they have decided against this as a temporary stand would lose them money.

Clearly Oxford are no mugs. Despite Swindon giving Oxford close to 2,700 tickets (yes almost twice what they have given us) for the match at the County Ground between the two clubs in August, more Oxford fans wanted in at the County Ground and got into the home ends at the County Ground. Oxford however decided to sell all their tickets last year for the return fixture at the Kassam Stadium to ensure no Swindon Town fans would be in the home ends. Aren’t our yellow friends clever? In return we appear to have been given the bare minimum.

Details on how Town fans can scrap for the 10 or so away tickets we have been given will be made available on Friday at swindontownfc.co.uk. We dare say it will be 1 ticket per season ticket holder and they will all be gone the day they go on sale. Tickets for this one will be at a premium.

Oxford won the home leg 2-1 against Swindon back in August, giving Swindon Town their only home league defeat of the season.

Next year chuck the Oxford fans in the corner of the Arkells Stand and leave the Stratton Bank empty we say, mind you with that said we will be in League One whilst they languish in League Two once again before suffering their traditional post Christmas collapse.
