Oxford Bottle It Against Exeter

Our friends from Oxford decided that they would like another season in the Conference and will get their wish after losing against Exeter City tonight on Penalties.

Whilst Oxford should have went up 3-0 on aggregate after the first match at St. James Park, Exeter came out the far better team in the second leg and have managed to book a place in the Conference Playoff final against Dagenham after beating Oxford on Penalties at the Kassam Stadium this evening leaving Jim Smith and his men to get the map out and start planning for their trips to Droylsden and Histon next season.

Oxford had at one time had a 9 point lead at the top of the Conference before a dip in form saw United drop to second.

Congratulations to Exeter City Football Club.

In effect they fluffed it to put it politely…they got too arrogant at the start of the season with talk of going undefeated all season and promotion by Jan….. enjoy!
