Swindon Town chairman, Andrew Fitton, hopes that his club will be able to do further dealings with Scottish giants Celtic this summer.

Last year Town bought Scott Cuthert from the Bhoys, who duly enjoyed a splendid season, while Simon Ferry spent the season on loan and impressed enough for Celtic to want Ferry to spend pre-season with them.

Town also had Ben Hutchinson on loan which didn’t go as successfully as Ferry’s spell and were linked to Paul Caddis too.

Fitton told the Swindon Advertiser that he “could quite confidently say that you will see at least one or possibly two current Celtic players in our squad next season.’ However, he was unsure as to whether Simon Ferry would be rejoining on a permanent basis.

Here’s hoping Celtic can provide another Cuthbert, Ferry or Henrik Larsson!

Good one! As for the Henrik Larsson, I hope we do, but I think we are first in line. No offence and all that.

None taken! Celtic have been good to us, Simon Ferry genuinely benefited from playing League One football but what was most important is that he embraced it. However, Ben Hutchinson had a massive chip on his shoulder.

Nellup – I found Hutchinson a very balanced person – he had a massive chip on BOTH shoulders – not my type of player I’m afraid.

    Haha fair point.
