Swindon look to maintain a unbeaten run at Northampton

Vital Quotes: Swindon

While talking to BBC Radio Swindon Danny Wilson emphasised that Town were still in major danger of getting relegated: ‘I’ll keep stressing’ stated Wilson ‘we’ve got a hell of a long way to go. We’re still in an area where we’re very vulnerable and a couple of bad results can put us right back into it.’

Northampton Town Team News:

Former Town transfer target Adebayo Akinfenwa is expected to play up front while Cobblers captain Chris Doig is out with an achilles injury.

Chelsea loanee Carl Magnay is out so Jason Crowe will deputise.

Player to watch: Adebayo Akinfenwa

Was set to sign a 1 year deal with Swindon back in the summer of 2007 until Paul Sturrock withdrew the offer on medical grounds.

He’s Northampton’s top marksman this season and will no doubt want to add to his tally.

Swindon Town Team News:

After being injured against Hereford, Jamie Vincent is rated at 50/50 for tonights fixture – Jack Smith will be the obvious replacement if need be.

Patrick Kanyuka and JP McGovern are still struggling and won’t play while Peacock, Corr and Aljofree are out for the season.

Player to watch: Simon Cox

Cox turned down Northampton in favour of Swindon. He’s scoring again and he’ll be a major threat.

  • Its not going to be easy and we’ll do well to come away with any points I feel. Pirate 1985 – come back when you have grown up and have a sensible contribution to make….. prat !

  • DOWN WITH THE YEOVIL ME OLD CHICKEN! Its gonna be awesome to beat you at your dump and send you down! Enjoy the journey ladies, 0-2 to the gas! You just wont be able to stop our Rickie!

  • Confidence is one thing – arrogance is another….. we’ll see……
If we do go down we only have ourselves to blame – and certainly not the Brizzle Rovers results, so don’t too carried away with it sunbeam.

  • A Rovers fans celebrating a mediocre season – quelle suprise. Yes – we have been largely rubbish – but Rovers have hardly strolled this season have they? They couldn’t even beat a rubbish Swindon side at home. They live in the shadow of the other team in Bristol and I would guess that would explain the angst.

  • Hey the form you guys are in, nobody can be happy playing you at the moment. I think you’ll nick a point from this game.
