A week off from the league sees Swindon Town play in the F.A. Cup 3rd Round against Roy Hodgson’s Fulham side. The Town have nothing to lose while Fulham have impressed many this season…

Vital Quotes:

FULHAM Team News:

In Roy Hodgson’s Christmas Preview – he told the official Fulham website that other than the long term injuries of Simon Davies and Diomansy Kamara Fulham have “got a pretty good bill of health at the moment…’

John Pantsil is definately out as he is representing Ghana is the African Cup of Nations.

With the league and Europa Cup possibly in mind then Roy Hodgson may opt to rest some of his more important players – So we may see the likes of Pascal Zuberbühler and Erik Nevland in the starting eleven.

Fulham side that lost 2-1 at Chelsea on 28/12/09

Mark Schwarzer, Paul Konchesky, John Pantsil (Dickson Etuhu 66`), Chris Baird, Aaron Hughes, Chris Smalling, Zoltán Gera (Andrew Johnson `71), Danny Murphy, Damien Duff, Bjørn Helge Riise, Clint Dempsey, Bobby Zamora.

SNU Pascal Zuberbühler, Toni Kallio, Jonathan Greening, Erik Nevland.

Player to watch: DAMIEN DUFF

The Irish international has over 350 top flight appearances to his name including two Premier League winners medals with Chelsea and two League Cup winners medals with Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea.

When on form he can be only of the best wingers outside of the bigger clubs within his division.

SWINDON TOWN Team News:

The in form Charlie Austin is cup-tied so Danny Wilson must decide on who will be the best option to partner Billy Paynter up front.

Also, Alan O’Brien limped out of the 3-1 win over Yeovil Town – Lescinel Jean-Francois will be on stand-by.

Player to watch: JONATHAN DOUGLAS

For me, Town’s best player – if Swindon are to compete with top flight Fulham then it is important that the Irishman is on song.

home win for me as well!

  • Nellup says:

My money is on Billy Paynter starting up front on his own. A replay isn’t out of the question but without Charlie Austin we lack some of the edge we currently have have up front. To be honest, Swindon will go for it so the Final Score depends on how seriously the Fulham fringe players treat this game.
