Promising young defender Sean Morrison has joined fellow League One outfit Southend United on a one month loan deal.

The move has been put in motion so that Morrison can get games under his belt due to being denied at Swindon thanks to Gordon Greer and Scott Cuthbert’s fine form of late.

At the start of the campaign Morrison, 18, was Town’s most prized asset with several big clubs scouts lurking in the stands in order to keep tabs on the Devon born teenager.

However, his debut was a disaster as he was sent-off in the first half for hauling down Yeovil Town forward Jon Obika and being considered the last man he was given the dreaded red.

Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson has defended Morrison claiming that the referee got the decision wrong and even suggesting that Morrison was told that it was only going to be a yellow card.
