Swindon Town have confirmed the departure of Midfielder Andy Monkhouse to League 2 rivals Hartlepool United.

Monkhouse who came to Swindon under former boss Dennis Wise from Rotherham United, had been fighting hamstring injuries ever since his arrival at Swindon and was sent out on loan to regain match fitness at Hartlepool.

After a successful loan spell where Monkhouse scored 3 goals and helped lead Hartlepool back to the playoff places, Danny Wilson has made an undisclosed offer to keep the midfielder at Hartlepool which Swindon Town have accepted.

How really can we miss a player who rarely seemed to play for us because of injury. good luck to him – but not if he plays against us.

Considering there is only two points between us are you sure Sturrock is doing the right thing? If Monkhouse has been on fire for us how come Sturrock doesn’t consider him to be suitable for you? I suppose he inherited him and managers never favour players they inherit.

Some players suit some teams others don’t, added with his injury woes and he was obviously enjoying his stay at Hartlepool we’ll take the money and run please.
