Swindon Town Football Club have announced the resignation of Chief Executive Mark Devlin.

Devlin had been off sick since being involved in a plane crash whilst returning to Swindon after the opening game of the season against Hartlepool United.

Devlin had 2 spells at the club and was well respected by the fans for his public relations skills.

Devlin had been involved with setting up the clubs bonus scheme this season which the players are paid a bonus for being in the playoff or automatic promotion places according to his post on an internet message board.

The club have released a statement wishing Mr. Devlin well in his future endeavors.

Martyn Starnes has been acting as chief executive during Devlin`s hiatus. We expect an announcement to be made shortly confirming that the role will become permanent.
