Mancini Swoops for Henshall

England Youth international Alex Henshall has left Swindon to sign scholarship forms with Premiership big spenders Manchester City. After a year Henshall is expected to sign a professional deal.

In fairness, it was only a matter of time before the promising youngster would leave for the bright lights of the top flight.

What’s most important for Town fans is ‘what’s in it for us?’. Well a transfer sum of £250,000 plus percentages and loan players are believed to be chairman Andrew Fitton’s aim and, hopefully, final outcome.

Henshall joins the ever growing list of Town youngsters who have stepped up to bigger clubs including Matthew Collins (Fulham), Theo Walcott (Southampton), Leigh Mills (Spurs), Lukas Jutkiewicz (Everton), Ben Tozer (Newcastle) and Jamie Stephens (Liverpool).

Good luck Alex!
