Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas has ruled out a swoop for Cheltenham Town striker Steve Gillespie.
Gillespie told the Swindon Advertiser that the club are looking to strengthen other areas of the club before looking at a striker.
A source who claimed to be connected with Cheltenham Town, told Vital Swindon Town Tuesday night that Swindon were preparing to make an offer to bring the 14 goal scorer to the County Ground with a player going back the other way.
Swindon fans had noted on various sites that Gillespie would be a good addition at the County Ground but Swindon are unwilling to pay “silly money” for players and are focusing on bringing in youngsters released from Premier League and Championship sides over the Summer.

does mean anything , they always rubbish rumours . We need a good quality midfielder first though
Steve Gillespie is a quality player and did well in a poor team at Cheltenham.
