Swindon Town have been in discussions with Queens Park Rangers forward Leon Clarke over a possible move to Wiltshire.

Clarke, 26, started his career with his hometown club Wolverhampton Wanderers and went on to play 74 times in the league, scoring 13 times.

He moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2007, scoring 18 in 83 games before leaving for Queens Park Rangers in 2010.

Leon Clarke has also spent much time out on loan throughout his career playing for Kidderminster, Plymouth, Oldham, Southend and Preston.

It is believed that Clarke is open to a move down to League Two with Swindon but wages considered to be the inevitable stumbling block.
