Beleaguered League One side Leeds United have lost their appeal against a 15 point deduction and face an uphill battle this season for League One survival.

United now face the very real prospect of playing League 2 football next season after allegedly breaching the Football League’s insolvency procedures.

The chairmen of the other 71 Football League clubs voted “overwhelmingly” to sanction the club and then again to uphold the original punishment of a 15 point deduction.

Leeds will need to get off to a flying start this season if they are to have any chance of surviving in League one this season.
