Vital Swindon Town would like to back Mansfield Town supporters after prospective owner John Batchelor announced he would re-name the club Harchester United if his bid for the club is successful.

Batchelor almost took York City to the brink of extinction and has stated already that he could not care less what fans of Mansfield Town think.

Speaking to a local newspaper Batchelor said, ‘Let’s be clear, I want a football club, preferably one in the league. The ONLY reason that I want it is to make money, the only reason that I want to do that is to look after my immediate family. I can only do that by making it work on the pitch and as a result making it work commercially. This would be MY club, if you like what you see come and watch, if you don’t, then stay away. I am not even interested in discussing it with ‘fans’

This man has NO PLACE What so ever in football and should be kept out no matter what it takes.

The fans are the club and Batchelor has already stated that he could not care less about the fans and that he is only trying to buy Mansfield to make money.

Batchelor has stated he would like to re-name the team Harchester United after the fictional team on Sky One however Sky still own the rights to this name.

Should the club avoid relegation to the Conference the Football League has already stated it would not allow the club to change it’s name.

Harchester has NOTHING to do with Mansfield Town.

Mansfield Town F.C were founded in 1897 as the Mansfield Wesleyans, and the name Mansfield Town should remain.

Batchelor is no stranger to name changes. When the former motor racer bought York City F.C he promptly changed the name to York City Soccer Club to appeal to U.S markets, a plan that had NO success what so ever.

One thing is clear if Bachelor takes over Mansfield their will be a huge outcry from other clubs fans and it is likely that like York City, Mansfield would face a very uncertain future.

JOHN BATCHELOR HAS NO PLACE IN FOOTBALL.
