Cheltenham Town manager John Ward gives his thought’s about his teams match against Swindon Town Tomorrow at Whaddon Road.

Ward On Promotion Last Season

‘The initial momentum of promotion can carry on for a long time. They are still on a high and see themselves as being successful.

‘Teams can sometimes take their form from the previous season into the league higher.

‘We hit the wall after eight or nine games last year and it was difficult.

‘I don’t know whether that will happen to Swindon and from their point of view I hope it doesn’t.

‘But I do hope we can put a dent in their form on Saturday – but Paul Sturrock and his team will probably have something to say about that.’

Ward On The Atmosphere Tomorrow

‘It should be a great atmosphere because our ground is nice and tight and keeps the noise in.

‘The pitch is great and the local derby means that Swindon will bring a good crowd.
‘It is important that my team get the home supporters behind them early because we certainly don’t want to be taken over by people from Swindon.

‘Some games have a bit of extra edge about them. This is the team down the road and they will want to show they are the top dogs’
