Swindon Town defender Jerel Ifil has been linked with a move to Championship side Plymouth Argyle after being frozen out from the Swindon Town first team.

Ifil was given a 3 year contract by former Town boss Paul Sturrock after Town won promotion from League Two however the former Watford man has been largely absent this season after a series of poor displays earlier on in the season.

Rumours going around last night at Brighton suggested that Town are now looking to sell Ifil with Sturrock known to be a keen admirer of Ifil.

John Blackley, the former defensive coach is now at Plymouth with Sturrock and brought the best out of Ifil during his short tenure at the County Ground.

Ed Hadwin seemed to indicate that Ifil`s days at the County Ground are numbered which would tie in with the rumour that Ifil is set to leave Swindon during the January transfer window.

Many fans have asked for Ifil to return however Ifil has seen limited action due to lack of reserve games and didn`t even make the bench for Town`s 1-0 drubbing by Histon on the weekend.

Plymouth Aryle and Sheffield United have been mentioned as possible destinations for ‘The Beast’.

Does that move not seem a little bizarre, being frozen out in League One then going to Plymouth? Mind you may not be long before they’re down with you. What do you think about this move?

Hopefully this is a load of nonsense, but if we (Argyle) DO sign him, I’ll be questioning what division the Board actually want us playing in.
