Former Swindon Town Midfielder Sammy Igoe has finally signed a permanent contract with League 2 rivals Bristol Rovers.
Igoe who famously once glued his eye shut left the County Ground at the end of the 2004/05 season to sign with Millwall. Igoe beleived he could play at Championship level soon found himself out of favour after then-Millwall manager Steve Claridge was sacked.
Igoe spent the end of last season at Bristol Rovers in League 2 and has finally signed a new deal to keep him at The Gas.
Speaking to Bristol Rovers official site Igoe said ‘It seems to have taken a long time and seemed to drag on forever but, thankfully, I’ve signed a contract now,’ Igoe told Rovers’ official website.
‘We have four really hard games at the beginning of the season, but if we keep our best players, I see no reason why this team can’t push for promotion.’
