Swindon Town have released Youth Team Manager Ian Woan and Physio Dick Mackey.

Rumours came about earlier in the week that Dick Mackey had departed the club.

Woan had taken over duties as Youth Team manager at the County Ground after Iffy Onuora was promoted to first team manager.

New Manager Dennis Wise wants full control of the team, from top to bottom and therefore is looking to bring in his own people.

Woan and Mackey follow Iffy Onuora and Alan Reeves out of the County Ground since the end of the season.

I think this is pathetic, Mackey has been a perfectly good physio and it is takrn things abit too far, he knows the players better than anyone. Why get rid?????????????????? The board ought to get rid of carson if they are looking to off load people.

This usually happens when a New Manager takes over, all the back room staff change to.

About time Mackey went as physio, our injury list season on season wasn’t a coincidence – he wasn’t properly qualified to do the job (Its well known if you come from the Stratton area), started out as a helper and typically with the Town over the last 10 years we went for the cheap option and got poor results. Been long overdue for a complete overhaul of STFC from top to bottom. Devlin, Power, Wise & co must be applauded.

Would not have been able to have been classed as a first physio if did not have qualifiactions, can’t blame him for having unfit players where training was not seen as important. No club would have a physio who were not qualified as if they did the wrong treatment would most likely be sued by players. May as started as a helper but does not mean he did not go on to get correct qualifiactions. later. You can not blame the physio for the team being relegated.

Of course I don’t blame the physio’s for us being relagated that wasn’t the point, the point was that like most of the goings on around the club for the last 10 years, you take the cheap option you get a lesser service. As the saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’. If you shop at Poundland etc…you get the drift. Hopefully that will change and we can upgrade to Tesco!

    what ever.
