Former Swindon Town assistant manager Gus Poyet has not put his name in the hat to be new manager of the club after being sacked by Tottenham.
Chairman Andrew Fitton told Swindon Town’s official website that Poyet had not applied and now has a short list on who will replace Maurice Malpas as Swindon Town manager.
Many fans had chosen Poyet to be manager after an impressive spell a couple of seasons ago alongside Dennis Wise.
Poyet added fuel to the rumours by saying he wanted to be a manager in England.
As good a manager as Poyet would be, it won’t be at Swindon Town by the looks of things.

At much as I admire Gus I think his sights are a lot higher than us. Which some might say isn’t too beat.
