Gary Roberts could be the next big earner to leave the County Ground.

Roberts was one of Paolo Di Canio`s marquee signings last summer but failed to really make an impression in Wiltshire apart from a belting 70 yard strike at Tranmere which officially marked the end of the Di Canio era when Fabrizio Picaretta left the club after the match.

Roberts made over 40 appearances for Town last season and has attracted interest from Chesterfield and according to reports up north, the winger has already had talks about a possible move to the B2Net Stadium.

It is difficult to see where Roberts would fit with Chesterfield`s wage structure as they failed to land Alan Navarro last month who would likely be on similar money as Roberts.

Prior to joining Town, Roberts was a key part of the Huddersfield Town team that won promotion to the Championship during the 2011/12 season.

The Swindon Advertiser also reports that Brentford are looking to sign Darren Ward who joined Town in January on a free transfer. Town could bite if they are able to save money on wages as the club turns to a youth programme for the forthcoming League One campaign.
