Swindon Town chairman Andrew Fitton has ended speculation linking Charlie Austin to Cardiff City.
Various sources were suggesting that the Welsh outfit wanted Austin to replace Michael Chopra if he indeed left Cardiff.
However, when asked by BBC Radio Wiltshire about a possible transfer Fitton replied; ‘I’m amused. I think someone should ask Charlie. It’s a bad story put in by somebody who wants to unsettle the player.’
So, there you have it. Austin is expecting to lead Town’s attack for the 2010/11 campaign.
