Former Swindon Town midfielder Brian Howard a dramatic overtime winner for Barnsley this afternoon in the FA Cup to send Liverpool crashing out of the competition.
Howard left the club after the 2004/05 season and said he turned down a contract to remain in Wiltshire.
Swindon Town would come out and say they couldn’t understand how Howard turned down a contract as he was never offered one.
Other teams advancing this afternoon in the FA Cup are Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City, Chelsea and West Brom.

I’m pleased for him. He was my favourite player is his Swindon days.
cant understand why we didnt do more to keep hold of him
Wasn’t that at the time when half our squad were up for contract expiry and we could only afford to keep 1 player in each position? Shame really, as I think Brian wanted to stay.
I notice had we not screwed up against Barnet we could have had home ties all the way to the semis without facing premier league opposition.
Glad that he carried on to score the goal. Referee bottled a clear penalty in the run up to the goal.
