Evans Could Go If We Go Down

Rhys Evans has hinted that he may leave Swindon Town in the summer if the club is relegated.

The former England under 21 has shown loyalty to Swindon in the past and turned down a chance to join Championship outfit Leeds United to stay with his family.

Like most footballers though Evans has ambitions in the game and any chance of him staying appears to be gone if Town do get relegated to League Two.

Speaking on the future Evans stated, ‘There are no further talks going on at the moment – I think the most important thing is getting out of this situation we are in, ‘

‘I think there’s a good chance of that (waiting to the end of the season). I need to be totally focused on what I’m doing, because being a goalkeeper is all about concentration and preparing myself correctly.’

Evans looked set to depart after last season after being upset with a pay cut, however he later did a U turn and rejoined his hometown club. Speaking of his committment to Swindon Town he said, ‘I’d be very disappointed if anybody ever questioned my commitment to the club – I have proved on many occasions how committed I am and I don’t think that’s an issue.’
