Jonathan Douglas has been seen at the County Ground according to several reports within the Swindon Town fans forums.

It is assumed by many that Douglas, 27, will find a Championship club to employ him with minimum fuss. However, since being released by Leeds United on May 21 (along with new Town keeper David Lucas) no major rumour has circulated regarding the former Republic of Ireland international.

Could Danny Wilson be taking advantage of this? Many will hope so!

But until then it’s simply another case of wait and see!

A native of Monaghan, Douglas started his career with his hometown club before joining Blackburn Rovers in his late-teens.

He made 16 appearances in the Premiership for Rovers, scoring once (in an epic 4-3 away win at Fulham). He also enjoyed loan spells with Chesterfield, Blackpool and Gillingham.

Douglas then joined Leeds United on a season-long loan deal which turned into a 3 year deal the following summer after impressing throughout the year.

He was released by Simon Grayson when his contract expired.
