Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio is set to to step up his search for a new defender after Paul Caddis limped off on 15 minutes with a ankle injury last night.

Speaking to the press Di Canio said, “Paul has not suffered big, big, big damage but we want to be sure and he will have a scan on Thursday,”

Di Canio had no defenders on the bench meaning Alan McCormack had to move to right back whilst Oliver Risser moved from midfield to centre back.

Callum Kennedy and Nathan Thompson are the only fit defenders at the club after Alberto Comazzi was released, Daniel Boateng returned to Arsenal and Aden Flint is still recovering from a groin injury.

Di Canio did confirm that Flint is near ready to return however.
