Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has started discussions with the players brought into the club by Best Holdings.

Sturrock has told Franklin Anzite, Ibon Arrieta and Mauro Almeida they are surplus to requirements and are free to leave the club.

The problem with the current situation is that the club are over budget and need to reduce the wage bill. Arrieta was given a 2 year contract at the club but has been told he can leave despite only signing in the summer.

Arrieta, Almeida and Anzite were brought into the club by Best Holdings who were at the time looking to buy the club however these were not players Sturrock had recommended.

Sturrock is hoping Best Holdings will foot the bill for the players departure from the club however this seems rather unlikely.

I suppose also if Best holdings feel the breakdown of the deal was due to this board then they will be less prepared to foot bill than if it was them just walking awway. IMO.
