Dennis Wise Set To Be Named Manager?

According to some fans, The London Evening Standard ran an article stating the Swindon Town are about to name Dennis Wise as the club’s new manager.

Wise helped lead Milwall to the FA Cup final and has many contacts within the game including Chelsea legend Ray Wilkens who has been at the County Ground.

If true this appointment would bring a well known name to Swindon as well as a fresh approach. Perhaps Wise would be player/manager a system that has worked in the past with the likes of Lou Macari, Glenn Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles.

These reports are un-confirmed and we will keep you updated with any new developments.

as much as i like iffy think bringing dennis wise in could do the club so much good in terms of him playing, his contacts, the exposure he would give the club and maybe his name alone would bring in more supporters through the turnstyles!

Does the London Evening Advertiser even exist? Just did a google search on and could find no such paper…

Can’t see Wise taking over at Swindon, if I’m honest. Iffy did well, to be fair, got you a lot closer to staying up than King would have done.
