David Tuttle has turned down role of Caretaker Manager at Swindon Town this afternoon.
Statement From Swindon Town FC
Yesterday Head of Youth / Scouting Director Dave Tuttle was appointed to take charge of team affairs on a temporary basis
However, after giving the temporary position some thought, Tuttle has decided to turn down the opportunity – instead expressing his wish to remain as Head of Youth / Scouting Director at The County Ground.
Tuttle spoke to the official website this afternoon, explaining his reasons behind the move.
‘I gave it a lot of thought. The club offered me the position of caretaker manager on Monday evening – which I accepted. However, after much deliberation and after speaking with my family; I have decided it’s not right.
‘I am committed to Swindon Town and want to continue developing my current role with the youth team and scouting here.
The club is the most important thing and I have made an honest decision,’ he finished.
Martyn Starnes, Acting Chief Executive at Swindon Town FC, added:
‘We fully respect David’s decision and he has the full backing of the everyone at the club. He has done a fantastic job since joining the club and we look forward to him continuing in that role,’ said Starnes.
The club will be making a further announcement later this afternoon.
