Danny Wilson Begins Confidence Search

It was Winston Churchill who once said that ‘courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others’, well it’s safe to say that new Swindon boss Danny Wilson will be attempting to ignite some courage in order to rediscover the long lost confidence to save the 2008/09 season from being a total disaster for the Town.

It’s F.A. Cup weekend but having been dumped out of the competition in November to the Blue Square Premier’s Histon, Swindon now have a weekend off.

For the the fans it’s a case of wondering what to do to fill the void. However, for Wilson and co it’s an opportunity to working on getting the rest of the season correct from the start.

Confidence is the key factor that Wilson has indicated that could save this season, the new manager told the official Swindon Town website that ‘they will try things that they wouldn’t possibly try without that confidence and it is my job, and the staff’s job, to give them that belief and confidence that they need. That’s what we will try and do.’

Nobody is expecting miracles but survival is absolutely imperitive, some have even suggested a dramatic move up the table which would obviously be most welcome, however sensibly Wilson remained coy on the subject by stating that he is ‘a realist, but to some extent we have to wait and see. It is wrong to come out and make big predictions because I don’t want people to be disappointed. We will take things one game at a time.’

Time will tell.
