Alan Connell is set to become Town’s latest (and long awaited) centre forward recruitment.

Connell is considered a popular player by both Grimsby Town and Bournemouth supporters. He started out as a professional with Ipswich Town before a move to Bournemouth in 2002.

Moves to Torquay United, Hereford United, Brentford and a return to Bournemouth followed.

Connell, 28, arrived at Blundell Park in 2010 and was ever present in the Town side, scoring an impressive 25 goals for 46 games.

The deal is subject to a medical which will take place this weekend.
