Swindon Town Striker Christian Roberts will leave the Sporting Chance alcohol rehabilitation centre early next week.

Roberts who leads the club in scoring this season with 3 goals after the departure of Rory Fallon, admitted last month he had a problem with alcohol abuse. Manager Iffy Onuora won’t rush back the welsh fan favourite, once he leaves the clinic.

‘The easiest thing, from a football view, might be to rush him back quickly, ‘ said Onuora. ‘But we don’t want to jump the gun and we have to be mindful of when is the right time for Christian to come back to work with us.’

The Sporting Chance Clinic was set up by former England captain and reformed alcoholic Tony Adams, and treats patients for a maximum of 28 days.
