Cheltenham 2, Swindon 0

Swindon Town suffer their first defeat of the League One campaign losing 2-0 to relegation favourites Cheltenham Town this afternoon at Whaddon Road.

Town suffered a big blow prior to half time with Billy Paynter leaving the game with a knee injury after colliding with Jennison Myrie-Williams. Paynter would be replaced by Lee Peacock.

Town would enjoy most of the possession at the start of the second half.

Cheltenham Town would take the lead on 62 minutes when Ben Gill put the ball past Peter Brezovan easily.

Town would continue to push however the wheels came off and the final nail put in the coffin when Jennison Myrie-Williams scored Cheltenham’s second goal on 80 minutes.

So it seems to be the same as last year. Swindon’s away form needs ot improve and quick if Town are to mount any sort of assault on the playoffs.

Cheltenham are favourites to go down and beat Swindon 2-0 with 10 men. It must also be noted that Swindon had 15 corners but were unable to score.
