Swindon Town chairman Willie Carson could depart the club within two weeks.

Carson has been rumoured to be replaced as chairman by Bill Power and the club would like to resolve any off field issues sooner rather than later.

Speaking to the local media, Chief Executive Mark Devlin said the club plans on having a board meeting to tie up the loose ends prior to the clubs tour of Ibiza in mid July.

‘We would like to think we would have held the meeting before the team fly off to Ibiza.’ Devlin said.

‘It will be a general meeting where we discuss a whole range of things, including the make-up of the board.’

Power, an avid football fan, recently invested £1 Million into Swindon Town and has made it known money will be available for players, should the right person come along.

  • No, Carson never wanted to be chairman anyway made no secret of that. Good riddance he has done nothing not even a stfc fan. No loss with him going.

  • Well at last is all I can say – what did he do for us – other than make himself unpopular….stick to the gee gees Carson.

  • I must say I haven’t noticed him doing anything worthy for your club. Hopefully this Power guy will be a bit more involved. Is he an STFC fan???

  • Who Power or Carson….. Carson I can answer for. a complete waste of space and time. Power, time will tell , atleast he’s putting money where his mouth is , Carson well the story ends there !!!

  • Shall we have a ‘whip round’ for him – to make sure he goes….I’ll get a card over Asda today if you like.

  • Carson – the maint. man is coming round to lower your raised seat in the Arkells stand soon, have you taken your cushion with you aswell? Good-bye !
