Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has dismissed speculation regarding the future of goalkeeper Peter Brezovan who had a trial at Everton this week.

Rumours have been circulating that Town’s takeover has hit a brick wall and that the club are actively looking to sell Brezovan to clear the clubs debts including an overdue £900,000 CVA bill that was due in July.

Sturrock states that Everton called him enquiring about Brezovan and that he would not stand in a players way to advance his career.

Sturrock has also stated that any move could not become official until the January transfer window re-opens.

Speaking to the media Sturrock said, ‘Let me put the record straight. Brezovan is going nowhere at this minute in time.

‘As far as I am concerned he is competing for the first team jersey. We have been made an offer of training for them to have a look at him.
