Swindon Town`s automatic promotion bid took a hit with a 2-1 loss to promotion rivals Brentford last night at Griffin Park.

Swindon bossed most of the first 70 minutes of the game and were leading 1-0 thanks to a Simon Ferry goal on 32 minutes, his second in 2 games to give the visitors the lead.

Things would change drastically on 72 minute when Wes Foderingham was adjudged to have tripped Clayton Donaldson resulting in a penalty.

Sam Saunders coolly slotted home to make it 1-1.

Brentford would then be rejuvenated and apply pressure and just 4 minutes later Clayton Donaldson would score his 21st goal of the season to make it 2-1 to Brentford which is how the game would end.

Brentford`s win means they leap frog Town in the League One table.
