AFC Bournemouth have made a loan bid to sign Swindon Town midfielder Matt Ritchie with a view to signing him permanently in January.

The Cherries have stated they have lodged a significant bid to try and lure the winger back to the south coast, but Town are expected to rebuff any bids as they fall well below the clubs valuation of the player.

Ritchie is one of the last players remaining from last seasons shambolic League One relegation squad and has been impressive this year although his form has dipped as of late.

The former Portsmouth winger has stated recently he is happy to stay at Swindon as long as they are around the playoff places.

Town currently sit 7th in the League Two table following their 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
