Swindon Town target Charlie Austin scored a brace this evening as his current club Poole Town beat Bournemouth Poppies 5-0.
Austin gave Poole the lead after 35 minutes minutes after been given the chance by team mate Pete Smith.
His second came a few minutes later to make it 2-0.
Poole finished the Poppies off with goals from Russell Cook, Carl Preston and Steve Smith.
It was reported today that Danny Wilson would be in attendance this evening so he will now decide on whether to offer the prolific goalscorer the chance to become a professional footballer.
In recent months Austin has been subject to offers from Eastleigh, Bashley and AFC Totton before impressed AFC Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe. However, the Cherries’ transfer embargo allowed Danny Wilson to step up his interest in the striker.

Careful he isn’t another Kiad Mohammed or what ever his name is, who never made the grade. But this guy Charlie certainly is looking the type we want, not necessaryily to go straight into first team.
Kaid was an odd one because other than Wrexham, he was causing little buzz. Other than his season at Carmarthen Town he was a bit of a football nomad even at a young age. He’s now at Bath City. Charlie Austin has done all he can. The problem a trialist like Yan Klukowski had was he was no better than the rest of the Town midfielders so despite doing okay, he didn’t earn a contract. Austin has little competition because we only have Paynter and Peacock as permanent forwards and as Wilson states, a goalscorer can step up. Mohamed was a poor signing.
