Swindon Town striker was confirmed as Roberto Di Matteo’s first signing as West Bromwich Albion manager today.

The initial fee of £1.5 million has equalled the clubs record fee received which was Kevin Horlock’s switch to Manchester City in 1997. The club could also recieve an additional £400,000 with add-ons.

Cox blitzed League One last season scoring 29 goals to top the goalscoring charts alongside Bristol Rovers’ Rickie Lambert.

The clinical finishing of Simon Cox essentially saved Swindon from relegation last term so Town fans will be anxiously awaiting Cox’s replacement. Over to you Danny Wilson!

Vital Swindon would like to thank Simon Cox for his contribution (especially during a season where there was few highs) and wish him all the best for the future.
