Alan McCormack is set to replicate Jonathan Douglas’ move to Brentford.

McCormack much like Douglas told whoever would listen that his first choice was to stay at Swindon as his family was settled and much like Douglas McCormack has now back tracked and looks set to sign for Brentford.

Town had offered McCormack a one year deal with no pay cut but the Town captain was looking for a two year deal to offer stability to his family, something chairman Jed McCrory has stated he offered late last week to keep Alan Mac at the County Ground.

McCormack will be another big miss after Joe Devera, a versatile player who can play anywhere across the park.

Darren Ward will likely take over for McCormack as captain heading into next season, assuming of course he is not sold.
