Swindon Town have made former Yeovil Town striker Andy Williams, signing number two of the day after he rejected a new deal to remain at Huish Park.

Williams had turned down an offer from Yeovil which the club said was the best offer it had ever made a player to entice him to stay at Yeovil but he rejected the contract as he wanted to be closer to his family.

It was the worst kept secret in Football with manager Paolo Di Canio confirming his interest early last week.

Williams scored 17 goals in all competitions in League One last season for a team near the bottom of the league, with Williams joining a team on the up he is likely to improve his goal scoring rate with crosses coming in from Matt Ritchie and Luke Rooney.
